A secluded retreat in the hills above Melides, Casa Sossego occupies a private estate of 16 hectares of pine forest, with no close neighbours. From its elevated position, the house overlooks wooded hills and offers a glimpse of the Atlantic on the horizon. Built in the region’s traditional style, with whitewashed walls, tiled roofs and stone details, it sleeps up to sixteen guests. A saltwater infinity pool faces the forest, surrounded by a deck, a lawn and a lounge area beneath a pergola. The estate also has a wellness area with a sauna, ice bath, gym, yoga deck and meditation yurt. The villa is approximately six kilometres from the centre of Melides. A place suited to large gatherings around the table, combining nature, comfort and on-site activities for stays with family or friends.

Note: 6 bedrooms are in the main house and 2 are in a separate annex set among the pines (Wood Cabin).
Indoors
The interior atmosphere is bright and understated. White beamed ceilings, arched doorways, oak floors, woven textiles and natural materials run throughout the house. Together, they extend the spirit of the traditional façades without becoming overly decorative.
The large living room opens directly onto the terrace. Next to it, a small sitting room with a fireplace provides a quieter corner. The spacious kitchen, with a central island, leads into a dining room arranged around a long table, where the whole group can gather.
The property also has its own wellness facilities: a sauna with ice bath, a fully equipped gym, an open-air yoga deck facing the forest and an 8-metre-diameter yurt, set up for yoga and meditation. A table tennis table completes the offering.
Outdoors
The property extends over 16 hectares of pine forest, which ensures complete tranquillity. The views take in the forest, the hills and, on a clear day, the ocean on the horizon, a panorama that is particularly appreciated at sunset.
The infinity pool (12 x 5 m) is filled with saltwater. It faces the forest and comes with a timber deck with sun loungers, a lawn and a lounge area beneath a pergola.
Several terraces surround the house, shaded by sails and timber pergolas, with plenty of spots to gather. An outdoor kitchen equipped with a barbecue and a pizza oven, along with several tables, allows for long meals outdoors.
Outdoor parking is available close to the house (for 5 cars).
Staff & Services
Housekeeping is provided from Monday to Saturday, for three hours per day.
Location
The property is located in the hills above Melides, on the Alentejo coast, in a setting of wooded hills. The village centre and shops are approximately six kilometres away. The sandy beach is approximately twelve kilometres away, a lake fourteen kilometres and a golf course seventeen kilometres.
