Villa Caferio is a wonderful, historic and luxurious property, located in one of the best spots of the Lake. The house is south-facing and blessed with sunlight throughout the day, unique views of the lake and surrounding landscape from all corners of the estate, and spectacular sunsets. It is the perfect place to feel and enjoy the true atmosphere of the most famous Italian lake, in all seasons. The total capacity, excluding staff, is 18 persons (14 adults and 4 kids, ideally).
This stunning villa has almost anything you can wish for and is unique in its versatility: a heated pool with great views, a gym (Technogym), a games room, sauna, steam room, not to mention your own docking facilities, to reach your restaurant with absolute ease and comfort. Indoors
The property is developed over several levels, to be explored and discovered.
The main Villa emerges from the rock cliff below and overlooks a large south-facing garden with a pool which is connected both to a winter garden gym and art area up above, and a solarium with a Jacuzzi, down below, with lovely views of the local marina and the village of Torno.
The main villa was built in the 1830’s by a famous local artist and boasts 4 double bedrooms and a two-bedroom family suite (2+2), each with en suite bathrooms, along with a large dining and entertaining area leading to the garden, with spectacular views of the lake. The current indoor design is classic and coherent with the iconic lake heritage.
A path then leads down through the garden to the boathouse: the top floor includes a private presidential suite composed of 1 double bedroom en suite, a twin bedroom reachable through a spiral staircase and that opens on the living area, a dedicated kitchen and a living/cinema room. The lower floor of the boathouse is dedicated to a games room and Spa area to relax and unwind.
There is also a staff area comprised of 2 bedrooms and one bathroom.
Outdoors
Upon arrival a gate house welcomes you at the top of the property. A short drive down takes you to a large belvedere terrace overlooking the entire estate.
The garden is majestic, spanning the 40m elevation from the local road to the lake itself and enriched by statues from the local artist Giuseppe Croff.
The garden develops over several levels providing sensational views of Lake Como from a variety of altitudes,and ending in dramatic rock-cliffs with a private waterfall that reminds you that we are in a pre-alpine area. There is plenty of space for lounging, partying or finding privacy for a romantic stroll or to enjoy a good book by the lake. You will enjoy the beautiful heated pool.
Should you feel like exploring further, a private, gated path will easily lead you to the centre of Torno, where you can enjoy the atmosphere and one of the high quality restaurants in the village.
The property also has a parking and a private mooring (up to 12 metres).
Staff & Services
The price includes bath amenities, a daily cleaning (6 times per week) and the final cleaning.
The villa can also be rented with staffed which includes: All linen, towels, and utilities: electricity (incl. A/C), heating, water, gas, pool and Jacuzzi heating from June to August only (extra charge of €500/week applies in April-May and September-October, no heating November – March). Fresh flowers, Complimentary arrival drink, Arrival hamper, Cleaning 6 times per week (5.5hr per day, 5hr on Sat, 3hr on Sun , Tues off), Final cleaning, Luxury bath products, Midweek change of bed, bath, and pool linens (Wed; 2 times per week for a multiple week booking), Wi-Fi Internet access, Concierge service & 1 chef, 1 sous chef, 2 butlers working 7 days/week, 8 hours/day).
Location
While only 10 minutes from the centre of Como, and a few hundred metres from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, the Villa feels intensely private and personal as it overlooks the lake and hillside with no other homes around it.
