Villa Heliconia

Villa Heliconia comprises of four beautiful and eclectic pavilions set in a manicured jungle within easy reach of Bandaranaike Airport. An ideal retreat for anyone seeking peace, tranquillity, and some idiosyncratic features in very private surroundings.

The bedrooms are based in two stylised pavilions, ideal for couples seeking an experience in rural Sri Lanka, with the convenience of being 40km from the heart of Colombo and only 25km from the capital’s airport. Each has its own terrace and ample sitting and dining area. All interiors boast a fusion of Western and Asian art and antiques, creating all comforts and some eccentricity in this lush tropical setting.

The third pavilion serves as a common sitting room housing deep sofas, WiFi and TV. The fourth pavilion houses a swimming pool with loungers in the shade, directing your vision over the paddy fields.

The property is based on the perimeter of a farming village, surrounded by plantations and paddy fields. Guests can feel part of rural life whilst under the watchful eye of a stunning temple stoupa. Experiences can include visits to markets, small temples, villages and farmland.

ROOM DETAILS:
Accommodation comprises two separate buildings situated in different parts of the grounds, both sharing the sitting room and pool pavilions for common access. Bedrooms have air conditioning and large king size beds.

TEMPLE ANGKOR touches the style of Cambodia’s jungle temples with the energy of its own neighbour temple’s stoupa aligned for its guests to enjoy. The bedroom is spacious, with ensuite WC and basin.

Antiques and artefacts adorn the bedroom with a large king size bed.

There are shelves and hanging spaces for clothes, bedside tables and lights, a large chair and luggage space. The room also has its own iPod dock.

The bathroom has been created in a private space just separate from the main building, crafted with beautiful copper fittings and ornamental design. There is no bath.

Temple Angkor also has its own separate large annexed kitchen (and fridge), which includes an outdoor barbecue area. Food can be cooked on an open fire for guests’ delectation and served at their own dining terrace.

- PAGODA GOLD has been adorned with an eclectic variety of furniture and furnishings, and is the smaller of the two pavilions. Located near to the pool pavilion “Pavilion Neapolitan”, it has a substantial covered terrace decked with chaise lounge, planter’s chairs and its own dining table and chairs under a beautiful glass chandelier. Antiques and artefacts adorn the bedroom with a very large king size bed, bedside tables and lights, and luggage space. The room has its own iPod dock.

The bathroom and shower have been created in a private space just separate from the main building, crafted with beautiful copper shower and basin fittings. There is no bath.

Other Rooms:
- PAVILION NEAPOLITAN has covered seating and loungers overlooking a small infinity pool, paddy-fields and beyond. This pavilion is available to all guests.

- THE DOLL’S HOUSE is furnished with all you need to read, write and relax. This air conditioned sitting room has its own PC for guests, FREE WIFI, and a home theatre including 42” flat-screen TV, music and DVD player. This pavilion is available to all guests.
