Villa Tocchi: an exclusive resort in Tuscany

Located on the southern side of the historic city of Sienna, on top of the hills and offering a 360° view of the lovely Tuscan landscape, Villa Tocchi is a residence placed in a unspoiled setting protected by thousands hectares of forest, which belong to the natural biogenetic reserve of Tocchi.  It is a place where you can let yourself get lost in the richness of the ancient local traditions. Rest and enjoy a relaxing experience in the Roman baths and the sauna built of natural woods, or spend your nights admiring the starry sky.
Historically, and over the past eight centuries, the property of the villa went from the hands of wealthy Sienese families such as the Tolomei or the Ardengheschi , to those of Patrizia and Vittorio Cambria. The couple then renovated the abode, conserving some of the building’s original features, preserving its fundamental characteristics. 


The rooms:
Villa Tocchi is constituted of three adjoining buildings, in which you can find the sleeping quarters, but also comfortable lounges. The villa’s sleeping quarters are composed of fourteen spacious and luminous rooms and their en suite bathrooms. Each room’s size varying between 15 ans 20 square meters and the furniture mainly consists of period pieces.  The windows offer a stunning view of the park, swimming pools and the woods, for the pleasure of nature lovers.
The bedrooms also open off the lounges where guests can sit and relax on comfy sofas and enjoy a peaceful time reading, listening to music by the fireplace. Despite the conservation of most of its original features, all the spaces in the villa are equipped with modern facilities to meet your needs, combining tradition and luxury:  flat screen TV with satellite link, fast internet connexion,  underfloor heating supplied with hot water from a biomass-fuelled boiler and solar photovoltaic and thermal panels..  You can also, if requested, enjoy the “cellar-effect” cooling system located under the floor.

The cuisine and the gastronomic experience:
In Villa Tocchi, the local gastronomic tradition meets the natural haven that is its surrounding, the typical Tuscan dishes being cooked with the products collected from the large organic vegetable garden and love stock raised on the property. Get a taste of traditional Tuscan recipes and bring out the flavour of the local cooking by accompanying every meal with specially selected quality wine.

Ancient methods of attaining wellbeing:
Within the property, you will also find a wellness centre with a large range of activities such as indoor hot baths, a Turkish bath, two swimming pools with cascades, a yoga room and a fully equipped gym. The calidarium, frigidarium and tepidarium, three large pools each contening water at a different temperature, will also be at your disposal and offer you a unique sensory experience. The villa will also give you the opportunity to enjoy the traditional welcome treatment consisting of a refreshing sauna, followed by massage with pure honey and medicinal herbs.

The sky in a room, the astronomical observatory:
The villa has an astronomical observatory set on a hill situated 350 meters above sea level. Strategically positioned, it offers the opportunity to probe the sky thanks to the technology of a professional observatory equipment: a Meade LX 200 R14’’ f/10 telescope with GPS; CCD camera for deep-sky shots of the planets and moon with direct link to a maxi-screen; fiber optic network connected with the conference hall; meeting room with a capacity of twenty-five and fast internet connection...

How to get there:
Villa Tocchi is easily reachable by air, car and train, and possesses its own small heliport. If necessary we can provide you with a chauffeur-driven car and a shuttle service from and to the airports and railways stations. Also, Situated in the Municipality of Monticiano, between the Roman baths of Petriolo and the Cistercian abbey of San Galgano, the residence is located 25 km from the city, and is just a  40 minutes flight from Rome.

Things to do at Villa Tocchi:
The residence offers a large range of activities, from trips on horseback for experienced riders to excursions with our donkeys or trekking with or without a guide. For the less adventurous, the villa also offers more subdued activities such as courses of traditional cooking, oil and wine tasting, course in the preparation of pork products. And for those looking for relaxation, you can enjoy yoga courses, Tai Chi courses, or massages.
