This elegant, quintessentially French 'Cote d'azur villa', was built in the 1930's and is located on the edge of the marshan ridge, the social artistic and intellectual hub of the vibrant city of Tangier, within easy walking distance of the Kasbah, the historic heart of the city.

Facing south-west the house has unobstructed views of the old mountain and the palace quarter of Tangier where the kings of Morocco and Saudi Arabia, and the Emirs of Kuwait and Bahrain have built their summer palaces.

The villa is set in 5000 square metres of walled, immaculately manicured gardens with mature palm and cypress trees, bougainvillea and tropical plants. At night the garden is illuminated by countless lanterns.

On the ground floor the villa boasts a spacious, elegant, formal drawing-room, a dinning room and a Morrocan style sitting room. These give access to the main terrace which is ideal for outdoor entertaining with a dinning table and sofas, and is covered by an awning. The terrace overlooks the gardens, and swimming pool area.

There is a beautiful saltwater swimming pool just below the villa, overlooked by a cool terrace where meals can be taken out of doors.

There are four en suite bedrooms on the first floor including the master suite with its own study and large bathroom. With views over the extensive gardens, the bedrooms are comfortably furnished in an elegant colonial style with British and French antiques and Moroccan artisan handicrafts.

There is one guest cottage in the garden with two en suite bedrooms.

The spacious gardens and French-windows keep the villa cool on the hottest of days, while open fires and central heating banish the chill of occasional sea mists or mountain breezes.

There is a beautiful saltwater swimming pool just below the villa, overlooked by a cool terrace where meals can be taken out of doors. A larger terrace on the other side of the house is fully furnished for sitting out or taking meals, and in the summer, an awning turns this space into an extension of the indoor living rooms.

The Manager, Butler/Cook and Chief Gardener all speak French (the Manager also speaks a little English), and, with their assistants, contribute much towards an effortlessly satisfying stay.

Expeditions down into Tangier, to the beaches, or to other places of interest can easily be arranged, either independently or with the assistance of the House Manager.
